Privacy Policy

At CompostGuy.com, we certainly understand that the privacy of your personal information is very important.

We’ve provided information on the kinds of personal information we receive and collect when you visit CompostGuy.com, and how we protect this information. Rest assured that we will never give/rent/sell your personal information to third parties.

Log Files
Like most other websites, we collect and use data from log files. The info in these types of files can include your Internet Protocol (IP) Address, your Internet Service Provider (ISP), the browser that was used to visit our site (eg Firefox, Internet Explorer etc), the amount of time you spent the site and the pages you visited while here.

Cookies and Web Beacons
We use third party advertisements on CompostGuy.com to support our site. Some 3rd party advertisers use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on the site, which sends these advertisers (such as Google through the Google AdSense program) information such as your IP address, your ISP , the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed.

This is usually used for geotargeting (eg. showing New York real estate ads to someone in New York) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing cooking ads to someone who frequents cooking sites).

DoubleClick DART Cookies – We may also use DART cookies for ads serving through Google’s DoubleClick advertising company. They place a cookie on your computer when you are browsing the web and visit a site using DoubleClick advertising (including some Google AdSense advertisements). The cookie is used to serve ads specific to you and your interests (referred to as ”interest based targeting”). The ads served will be targeted based on your previous browsing history (eg. if you have been viewing sites about visiting Las Vegas, you may see Las Vegas hotel ads when viewing a non-related site, such as on a site about basketball).

DART uses “non personally identifiable information”. It does NOT track personal information about you, such as your name, email address, physical address, telephone number, social security numbers, bank account numbers or credit card information. You can opt-out of this ad serving on all sites using this advertising by visiting http://www.doubleclick.com/privacy/dart_adserving.aspx

You can also choose to disable or selectively turn off our cookies and/or third-party cookies from within your browser settings, or by changing security preferences in programs such as Norton Internet Security. However, keep in mind that this can affect how you are able to interact with our site as well as other websites. This might include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into forums or accounts. Deleting cookies does not mean you are permanently opting out of any and all advertising programs. Unless you have settings that always disallow cookies, the next time you visit a site running the advertisements, a new cookie will be added.

If you have any questions/concerns regarding our privacy policy, please feel free to contact us.
